77th Economic Policy Panel
The Spring 2023 Economic Policy panel meeting was held on 20 and 21 April in Stockholm, hosted and supported by the Sveriges Riksbank.
Papers included on the programme focused on ‘Geoeconomics’.
The invited policy session featured Philippe Martin of Sciences Po and CEPR and Lionel Fontagne of Banque de France presenting new research on how firms respond to energy price shocks – and the implications for a wide range of national and supranational policies, including energy subsidies and energy efficiency incentives for households and businesses, reforms of European’s electricity market, and the transition to cleaner energy sources.

The Autumn 2023 Economic Policy panel meeting took place on 19 and 20 October in Madrid, hosted and supported by the Banco de España.
The invited policy session featured Kenneth Rogoff of Harvard University presenting new evidence of China’s heavy reliance on real estate and infrastructure construction as a central part of its economic growth.

The spring 2024 Economic Policy panel meeting will take place on 4 and 5 of April in Brussels, hosted and supported by the National Bank of Belgium. The papers presented will focus on ‘AI and the Economy’.
The invited policy session will feature Daron Acemoglu of MIT presenting a new report on artificial intelligence governance.
