The Autumn 2023 Economic Policy panel meeting took place on 19 and 20 October in Madrid, hosted and supported by the Banco de España.
The invited policy session featured Kenneth Rogoff of Harvard University presenting new evidence of China’s heavy reliance on real estate and infrastructure construction as a central part of its economic growth.
79th Economic Policy Panel
The spring 2024 Economic Policy panel meeting took place on 4 and 5 of April in Brussels, hosted and supported by the National Bank of Belgium. The papers presented will be published as part of a special issue on ‘AI and the Economy’.
The invited policy session featured Daron Acemoglu of MIT presenting a new research on Generative AI: the likely effects on productivity, growth, wages and inequality titled ‘ The Simple Macroeconomics of AI‘
80th Economic Policy Panel
The 80th Economic Policy panel meeting will take place on 23 and 24 of June in Venice, hosted by CESifo as part of the CESifo Summer Institute. The papers presented will be published as part of a special issue on ‘Economic Policies for Peace’. This special issue will investigate how incentives for conflict are shaped and how potent economic policies can reduce the scope for armed fighting.
